PILOT SIGNALS FOR GREY RIVER
1. Ball ami red Hag at mast-head— High water, take the bar. 2. Ball and blue nag, half-mast—lTalf-flooil, wait for tide ; when the bar may safely be attempted at haK-iloocl the red flag will lie at mast-head. 3. Ball upon lower-mast cap with white nag — Ebb tide, bar dangerous. 4. No signal—Do not attempt to take the bar. 5. Ann pointing to the right hand entering from seaward— More to the south. (5. Ann pointing to the left hand entering from seaward — More to the ' North. • ■;7. Ann up and down Avith signal mastAs you go. S. When more than one vessel is crossing tlie bar the foremost vessel will be piloted by the signals, the others following iv her wake. 9.
