The market has been relieved to a^'great extent of rations, and as these are now beginning to be more inquired for, pricies look as if going to improve. Candles evince ver}' consi'lerable buoyancy, the small quantity advised as coming forward, about twenty tons, having sent prices up fully l£d per lb ; in the forenoon sales were made at 144 dof parcels which in the afternoon were re-sold at 'lojd ami l(sd. The Neva Stearine Company have raised their prices to lad. Conisacks were disposed of at 13s 6d, but we understand that holders now demand more money, refusing, till the mail steamer conies in, to name a - selling -''price.." A shipment of Californian lib salmon was placed at a trifle under the prices realised for Scotch J Tennont's bottled ale meets with a ready- sale at improved rates, 9s 9d being now obtained. A parcel of bottled stout, an outside brand, was disposed of at rather,- late quotations for standard brfiuds.
