GREAT FIRE, Ilf CHRIST.GHURCH. £3q,OQQ WORTH OF PROPERTY PESTROYED. (BJ>.OM OUll OW.V CORRESPONDENT.) Christohurcii, Wednesday. Early on Tuesday morning a tremendous fire, to.ccurred in Christchurch. It first aaade.' its apx>earance at the back pf Roach's shop, in Colombo street, and before its progress was stopped it had burned right up to Armagh street, sweeping down all the intervening property, including six stores, the Golden Fleqce Hotel, Gookham House, and Warehpuse. The loss pf property and goods is estimated at L35,0Q0, but of this sum L 20,000, is insured. As yet, no clue lias been discovered to the origin pf the fire.
