Witnesses wdre ' called as .-to. ■character, "who 'spoke in favor- . able terms of the prisoner. ; The Magistrate ■ addressed the prisoner, and priiuted out that j lie had, by the offence of which he had been guilty, rendered himself liable to two year's imprisonment- Jiatl he 'been committed for - trial. Taking into consideration the circumstances of the case, aiid'that he did not consider it strong enough to send for trial, he gave the prisoner the benefit, 'and would discharge him. The prisoner wa3 discharged accordingly. ■
