Drunkenness. —John Sherlock, who had been found on the night previous on the .Eire Brigade premises, was fined ss. Mary ‘Bennett, Henry Campbell and Mary Craig were fined 10s, with the usual terms of imprisonment in cases of default. Larceny. —Sarah Eickerby was charged with stealing an overcoat, frying pan, &c., valued at .£1 ss, the property of J. A. Williams. The police not being prepared to go ou with the case, she was remanded for eight days. Stealing a Watch. —Cornelius Connel, alias Connor, and Wm. Allington, alias Isaac Wilson, were charged with stealing a watch and chain valued at £4, the property of James Callaghan. The watch had been left in a vest behind a feuce near which prosecutor was working. It was taken out of the vest, and the prisoners were seen knocking about the place. Afterwards they sold the watch for 10s to the keeper of a secondhand store. The prisoners were sentenced each to four months’ imprisonment, with hard labor. Forgery. —John Hughes, alias Gilleece, was brought up, charged with having forged a cheque for £7, uttered to John Fox on April 18th, 1881, and a cheque for £l, uttered to Edward Eavenhill, on April 14th, 1881. Inspector Pender said there were two or three similar charges pending, and a remand was granted till December 15th.
