Clark marks a step in the direction of the federation of the Empire. It is believed that the sentence of exile against Arabi Pasha is imminent.

The Bev. G. W. Keimidon has been consecrated to the Episcopal See of Adelaide. The ceremony was performed with great pomp in Westminster Abbey by the Eight Ker. Bishop of London, acting as -the reprpsentative of His Grace the Archl>ishop of Canterbury, who was too ill to l>e present. The Bishops of Winchester, JEochester, Durham, and Lichfield, the Eight Rev. Bishop Suter, Bishop of Nelson, N.Z., and the Eight Eev. Samuel Thornton, Bishop of Ballarat, assisted at the ceremony. The sermon was preached by the Eev. Dr. Golt, of Leeds.
