MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close for the following: places as under (subject to the necessary alterations) : SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2. For Otago, per Hawea, at 11.80 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.40 a.m.; guard's ran, 12.10 p.m. train.
For Northern ports and Westport, at 11.30 a.m.; late fee letters, 11.40 a.m.; guard's van, 12.10 p.m. train. For the United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Cape of Good Hope, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c.,per Waitaki, as follows:—Ordinaryletters at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters, 7 p.m.; books and newspapers, 6.30 p.m.; money orders, 3 p.m.; registered correspondence, 5 p.m.; guard's van, 8.15 p.m. train. This mail will be due in London on January the 15th.
Note—Mails for Tai Tapu and Halswell will in future close daily at 6 a.m. On Monday, 4th December, a Telegraph, Money-order, and Savings-bank office, will be opened at Papanui Railway Station, and a free delivery by letter carrier begun there.
