MELBOURNE, November 24.
The Australian cricketing team arrived here to-day, and were cordially received. A banquet will be given in their honor on Monday next at the Town Hall, and on Tuesday a display of fireworks will take place on the grounds of the Melbourne Club.
The English Eleven commenced a match to-day against Twenty-two of Castlemaine. The weather was fine. According to the latest reports the home team have four wickets down for 64 runs.
SYDNEY, November 24,
New Zealand wheat has declined to 4s 3d; New Zealand oats have advanced to 3s 7d; maize has risen to 4s 9d ; Sugar Company's No. 1 pieces remain at £35 per ton.
A political meeting, at which Sir Henry Parkes addressed his constituents, was held here last evening. He was received with much enthusiasm, and was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence.
