The Mistletoe Lodge held their usual fortnightly meeting on Thursday, 23rd lust., ° when, in addition to their own members, their very fine hall, beautifully decorated for the occasion, was crowded with visitors from all the Lodges in Canterbury, the object being to pay due honor to the presence of the Grand Secretary, Bro. Bronan, of Melbourne, who is on an official visit to New Zealand. Amongst the visitors were the District Presidents Bros. Tomson and Skinner, and Past District Presidents Bros. Oppenheim, Swmnerton and Willstead; Past Representative Bro. G. Collier, Dr. Mcßean Stewart, and nearly all the past an< i P resen t officers of the two districts. The usual routine business having been disposed or, the Grand Secretary took the opportunity to explain at great length the objects of his visit, which were to open new lodges, inspect lodge books, and, from personal evidence, to learn how lodge business was conducted in Now Zealand. It was his intention to establish a depot in Christchurch, where all official goods required by the districts could bo [ obtained, doing away with the necessity and delay attendant on forwarding orders, as hitherto, to Melbourne. After a hearty vote of thanks accorded to the Worthy Grand Secretary for his presence, and the valuable information and advice he had tendered to the lodge, and, through them, to the order in New Zealand, the lodge adjourned for harmony, and, with the accompaniment of Mr Fleming, some beautiful music was rendered by Messrs Willstead, Parker, Harrington, Woolfo, Swinnerton, and others, and at twelve o'clock a most happy and. instructive meeting closed in unity and peace with all men. We should be scarcely warranted in closing this report without mentioning that the chair was ably filled by Arch-Druid Woolfe, and the decorations and arrangements were under the direction of Past Arches Bros. Sunderland and Bailey,
