Messrs C. S. Ross and Co. of this city sold a cargo of kauri timber, ex Alcestis, by auction to-day, at the following average prices per 100 ft super. Hewn logs, 16s 9d ; sawn flitches, 17s 6d ; sawn boards, lin., 20s; do, Hin to Sin, 21s ; T. and G. flooring, 6x|, 9s 9d; do, 4 x 1-J, 9s 6d ; do, 4xl, 5s Od. The market is dull. Received November 17th, 8.5 p.m. SYDNEY, November 17. New Zealand wheat has declined 4d per bushel during the week, and is now quoted at 5s 4d. New Zealand oats have fallen to 3s 4d, and maize to 4s sd. Sugar Company’s No. 1 jiieoes remain at A 35 per ton. Nothing further has transpired regarding the political crisis. Sir Henry Parkes left town this morning to see Lord Loftus at his Excellency’s country seat. The inquest on the bodies of the men who were drowned in the Austral has been adjourned until Monday next, the 20th inst. Received November 18th, 1.15 a.m. ADELAIDE, November 17. Wheat has fallen to 4s lid. The market is quiet, and no business is doing. Town flour is quoted at £l2 15s per ton, and country brands at All 7s 6d. Prices are nominal. Several farmers in Pekina district of this colony have sold out and left for the Middle Island. The South Australian Farmers Association are circulating large numbers of guide books and plans of that colony, and its agricultural advantages and prospects are exciting much interest here. The Adelaide wharf lumpers have struck work, and it is feared that disturbances may be caused by them.
