RIFLE MATCH.
A match was fired at the Sefton Eange between the Kaiapoi and Kowai Eifle Clubs, resulting in a victory for the latter By 24 points. The following are the scores : kowai rifle club.
462 Subsequently the Kowai Club held a meeting, immediately after which a letter was read from the E Battery of Artillery in reference to a challenge sent by the Battery. The letter it appears had been laying in the Post office since November Ist. The members present decided under the circumstances to write apologising for the unavoidable delay in answering their challenge, and offered to accept it on the 25th inst., with all the conditions except the Wimbledon targets, which neither the members nor markers are accustomed to.
