[keutkb’s telegrams.] MELBOURNE, November 12. ’ Arrived, this morning—The P. and O. steamship Peshawar, with the mails via Brindisi and Suez, dated London, September 22nd. SYDNEY, November 11, An accident occurred to-day on the Western line, near Bathurst. One lady passenger was seriously injured, and others are suffering from slight wounds. The cause of the accident is said to have been defective signals. The wharf lumpers who are now on strike paraded the streets this morning in “large numbers. Received November 13th, 0.20 a.m. ADELAIDE, November 11. The cricket match between the English team and fifteen of South Australia was resumed at Adelaide to-day. The visitors, with 66 runs to their credit, and having six wickets down, continued their first innings, Barnes and Mr E. P. S. Tylecote, the not out men of the previous day, being at the wickets. The eleven were disposed of for a total of 153. The scores during the day were as follows :—Barnes, b 42 ; Mr E. F. Tylecote, b 59; Mr C. F. H. Leslie, b 5; Mr G. F. Vernon, not out 2 ; Morley, b 1. The Home team then commenced their first innings, and at the close of the day’s play had lost three wickets for 40 runs. The wicket was in better order to-day, and the weather throughout was fine. The attendance of spectators was large, and his Excellency the Governor visited the field in the afternoon.
