[Before R. Westenra, H. R. Webb and J. P. Jameson, Esqs., J.P.'s.]) Drunkenness. —The following fines-were inflicted for this offence: —Jno. Patrick, who had broken a pane of glass, valued at 15s, at the City Hotel, fined 5s and to pay for the damage; Mary Ann Nugent, £3 ; for first offences six men were fined each ss; all to be imprisoned for the usual terms in default of payment. Bestiality. Albert James Edwards, charged with this offence, was, on the application of his counsel, Mr Joyce, remanded till November 14th. Bail was allowed, himself in .£SO, and two sureties in j£2s each.

Miscellaneous. —Demetrius Fernandez, who was found in a shed on the premises of Arthur Edwards, in St. Asaph street, on Sunday morning, was cautioned and dismissed.—M. Hamilton, a cabman, was charged with preventing another cabman getting a fare, also with loitering with his cab. Mr Perceval appeared for the City Council. Mr Holmes for defendant. Both cases were dismissed. —J. O. Sheppard, for allowing a horse to wander, was fined 5s. —John Buxton, for not keeping a light burning on a scaffolding, was fined 10s. —E. Hiorns, for not keeping a light burning before the Central Hotel, was fined 20s.— Several owners of unregistered dogs were fined in the usual sum for their offences.— Henry Simpson, for riding a bicycle on a footpath, Woolston road, on October 2Gth, was fined ss. A case against H. Patten, for allowing offensive matter to flow from his premises into the side channel in Worcester street, was adjourned till November 14th. —A case against W. Hall (two charges) for breaches of the Inspection of Machinery Act, was adjourned sine die for the presence cf a Resident Magistrate. —R. Clark, for assaulting E. A, Rowland, was fined £l.
