SITTINGS IN CHAMBERS. Monday, November 6. [Before His Honor Mr Justice Johnston.] His Honor sat in the Covirt Chambers at 11 a.m. POLLOCK V GRAY. Mr Harper applied herein for dismissal of action for slander on ~the ground of nonprosecution of action within the fourteen days allowed. His Honor made the order as prayed. SHAVE V BRADSHAW. Mr Joynt, for plaintiff, applied herein for settlement of issues. Mr Harper appeared for defendant. The issues were settled as proposed, and the trial fixed to take place at Timaru by common jxiry at next sitting of the Supreme Court. PALMER V CHESNEY. In this case Mr Harper applied for an order to hear this case in Christchurch, which was granted. RE F. J. DOTJBLEDAY. Mr Salter applied herein for an order discharging articles of clerkship as between Alfred Thompson and the said F. J. Doubleday, and directing the completion of the articles of the latter with Henry Slater. Order as prayed. RE W. HOBAN.
This was a similar application by Mr I/oughrey for completion of service with Mr Holmes, but on Mr Loughrey's application the matter stood over till next sitting in Chambers.
RE PETITION OF M. P. BTTEKE. Mr Harper applied herein for an order directing that M. S. Ridley be appointed as trustee herein in room of Alfred Thompson, and for vesting of money in certain trustees named. His Honor made the order as prayed. ' EOONISY V UNION EIRE INSURANCE COMPANY. Mr Joynt applied herein for settlement of issues and fixing time and place of trial, Mr Harper appeared for defendants to consent to the issues as proposed. The issues were settled, trial to be by special jury at Timaru on December 14th. RUTHERFORD V RTJTHEBFOED AND ANOTHEE. Mr Joynt applied herein for settlement of issues and fixing time and place of trial in this case. Mr Harper appeared for the defendants and consented to the issues as proposed. The issues submitted were settled, tho trial fixed at Timaru by special jury on December 15th. COLONIAL BANK V SHEPHEBD. Mr Button, for Mr Stringer, applied for leave to appear and defend action herein. Leave was granted to plead within ten days after delivery of declaration of plaintiff. LETTEES OF ADMINISTBATION. Letters of administration were granted in re A. C. Watson, deceased, to J. S. Monek (Mr Harper); re P. McCarten, deceased, to C. McGrath, W. Lynskey, and M. McHugh (Mr Loughnan). PEOBATES. Probates were granted as under :—ln re Robert Brooks, deceased, to Catherine Brooks and Henry Brooks (Mr Joyce); re Alkanah Armitage, deceased, to W. S. Armitage and F. Wilding (Mr Wilding); re Moses Mouldey, deceased, to E. C. Mouldcy (Mr Salter); re E. C. D. Gilinore, deceased, to P. C. Anderson and J. E. Hanson (Mr Harper). IN BANKTJPTCY. DISCHARGES. The following bankrupts obtained their orders of discharge:—Ee T. W. Longuet (Mr Martin) ; re J. C. Hubbard and E. Clarkson (Mr Wilding); re Augustus Thiele (Mr Swann). OEDEES FOR COSTS. Orders for costs were granted in re R. Billens, inn. (Mr Joyce), v Black and Parson (Mr Holmes). The Court then rose
