CHRISTCHURCH. Thursday, November 2. [Before R. "Westenra and J. P. Jameson, Esqs., J.P.'s.] Drunkenness. —Anthony Ferrick, who had been found the previous night sleeping in a shod on the Cathedral premises, pleaded guilty. He said he had no recollection of how he got there, ho was drunk. Ho was dismissed with a caution. For a first offence a man was fined ss. A man for being drunk,using obscene language, and assaulting Constable McGillwho arrested him said that, having been confined to his house by illness, he had taken a day out and had got a little too much drink. He was fined 15s or forty-eight hours' imprisonment. Civil Cases.—Pillow v Allen, claim £G ss, being for half commission on negotiating a loan ;Mr Izard for plaintiff; Mr McConnel for defendant; judgment for plaintiff for £s lss 6d with costs. Judgment went for plaintiffs by default in Kerr v Jemmet £3 9s lOd, Oppenheim v Payne £o 15s 6d, Rankin v Cleary £1 Is, Sunderland v "Williamson ,£S 18s lOd, and Dunbar v Dobbs ££. Stewart v "Willis was adjourned till November lCth'.
