Received October 30th, 7.35 p.m. MELBOURNE, October 30. The following horses have boon scratched for the Cup since 11 a.m., when the last forfeit was paid : —Boolka, Guesswork, and Navigator. Received October 30th, 3 p.m. MELBOURNE, October 30. 11.40 a.m. The following horses made the final payment for the Cup to-day : —Anglcsoa, The Assyrian, Belmont, Brunette, Boolka, Calma, Cunnamulla, The Drummer, Darebin, Essex, Plying Jib, First Water, Gudarz, Guesswork, Jessie, King of the Vale, Lord Lisgar, Lord Burghley, Little Jack, Mistaken, Navigator, Odd Trick, Pollio, The Queen, Santa Claus, Stockwell, Sting, Sylvauus, Sweet AVilliam, Segenhoe, Standard Bearer, Savanaka. Received October 31, 1.25 a.m. It is probable that the following horses will not start for the Cup to-morrow— Lord Burghley, First Water, Segenhoe, Flying Jib, Essex, Brdnette,' and The Queen, leaving twenty-two horses in the field. To-night’s hotting on the Cup is— Sweet William 5 to 2, Little Jack 6 to 1, Mistaken 7 to 1, Sting 12 to 1, Cunamulla 15 to 1, Sylvauus 15 to 1, Darehin 20 to 1, King of the Vale 20 to 1, Savanaka 20 to 1, Pollio 20 to 1, Odd Trick 25 to 1.
[special to press association.} Received October 30th. 10.40 p.m. MELBOURNE, October 30. The weather is very hot, and the training is slow. This morning Darebin did a two mile gallop very strongly, and finished well. Savanaka went over the sand track of two miles in 3min 41|sec, the last mile being done in Imin 41sec, which is a very very good performance. Cunnamulla did a serviceable gallop, and Sweet William, Gudarz and Santa Claus did a good mile and a quarter. The first-named finished well. The settling on the Derby is satisfactory. Navigator has been scratched. Sweet William has advanced in favor, and 100 to 10 is offered about him. Mistaken, 100 to IS (offered) ; Little Jack, 100 to 15 (offered) ; Sting, 100 to 9 (offered) ; Odd Trick, 100 to 7 (taken) ; Savanaka, 100 to 7 (taken) ; Sylvanua, King of the Vale, Stockwell, The Assyrian, Jessie, and Darebin, 100 to 7 (offered) ; 100 to 3 to 100 to 5 about the others. Sweet William or Little Jack should win. The best outsiders are Stockwell and Belmont.
Received 3.40 p.m. The weather continues glorious. The running in the Derby injured the position of Navigator in the Cup betting. The stable seem confident about Sweet William, and he is being backed quietly, but heavily, at sto 1. Little Jack and Mistaken are freely supported at 7to 1. Cunnamulla is at 10 to 1, Sting 100 to 8 (off), Sylvanus 100 to 5 (tk), Boolka, Belmont, King of the Yale, Calma, and Drummer 100 to 3 (off). Wagering, however, is paralysed, and there is nothing important doing, as the ring is waiting for hedging money. Visitors in crowds are coming. Navigator and Segenhoe are improbable starters.

TRAINING NOTES. On Monday morning Sir Modred, in company with Matakau, were sent twice round steady. Agent and Neptune went three times round slow, the old horse looking quite himself again. Gitana and Legerdemain were sent once round fast, followed by Contessa, who went twice round by herself. Tasman and Emir Bey —the latter with sweaters on and Tasman stripped—were sent twice round, slow the first round, the second time fast. The big brown soon had his compani on in trouble. Puller was on the course with Mignon, a four-year-old, sister to Murat, who was sent, twice round alone. This maiden daughter of Korari—Malice is a fine raking mare, and should earn her oats during the season. Puller is a hard working, painstaking trainer, and will no doubt make the most of the mare. Lady Emma sweated. Welcome Jack went twice round in clothing, Whitbatch finishing in his company. Minerva and the Poet were sent once round fast, the Derby candidate having all the best of it. Curate and Blue Jacket went once round fast; coming home Blue Jacket turned it up and bolted. Clarence, in, clothing, went twice round slow. Hilda went once round slow alone. The above comprised all the work done before breakfast.
WINSLOW RACES. At an adjourned meeting held at Harris’ Hotel, Winslow, on Saturday night, it was resolved to hold the annual sports and horse racing as usual, and a number of influential gentlemen were appointed to carry out the details of this usually interesting and successful gathering.
