The strike among the iron workers still Temains unsettled, owing to the dispute with Hudson Bros, on th«s eight hours question. The firm offers piece work, whioh the men xejeot. A further extension of sixty miles on the Bnblio railway was opened yesterday. The whole of the men employed on the Hepean waterworks struck for a reduction in the hours of labor to eight hours a day. The workmen on the TJralla and Glen Innes railway have struck for an increase of ■wages. The painters' dispute is not yet settled, the masters ref using the demands of the men. Thursday was observed in the Anglioan Churches as a day of humiliation and prayer tax rain.
Dr. Badham, of Sydney University, and the Hon. W. B. Dally, have consented to deliver lectures in aid of the Kendal fund. Bevelatious published in referenoe to the so-called Artisans' College and Agricultural Training School led to the breaking np of the establishment.

Superintendent Winoh end Sab-Inspector Earner have replied to the charges made ■gainst them of obtaining money from publicans. Winoh denies that he had comknitted any offence.
