Received October 24th, 4.30 p.m. MELBOURNE, October 24.

Serious floods have ocenrred at Birregnrra on the river of that name, eightyfour miles S.W. of Melbourne. Three persons wore drowned by the inundation in their homes.

Received October 25th, 1 a.m. In the Polica Court to-day Mr William Hill, manager of the Colonial Bank of Australia, Seedy Oroek, was committed for trial on a charge of being concerned in the robbery which was committed at that branch on the 12th August last. Received October 24th, noon.
