Maiden Trotting Back— One mile; heats; host two in three; for horses not having won a public trotting race of the value of 5 sova. Stakes, 25 sots; first horse to ' receive 5 sovs. First Heat. Jack 1 Rambler 2 Time, 3min 7seo. Handicap Trotting Rack —Horses in harness ; mile heats; best two in three. Stakes, 30 sovs; second horse to receive 5 sovs from the stakes. First Heat. Wakatu would have won easily, but ho broke coming in. Trial Stakes of 20 sovs; a trotting race for groan horses at the time of entry. Two miles. Biggie’s Castaway, 58 secs (Chavannee) 1 Mr Keith’s Speculation. 43 sacs ... (Owner) 2 Mr Sam Powell’s Wakatu, 43 sees (Owner) 3 A very close contest. Rambler and Jack were outpaced. Wakatu broke badly several times, or would have won easily. Time, 9min ISseos. Consolation Handicap of 15 sovs. Two
miles. Mr Keith’s Speculation, scratch 1 Mr Mo&lwain’s Dan 2 Mr Biggie’s Solicitor ... _ 8 Only the three started. The race resulted in a close finish between Dan and Speculation.
