AN EDUCATION SQUABBLE.
[FEBSa tiSOOIATIOH TBLBdEAH.] DUNEDIN, October 19. It will ba remembered that soma time Mr Warme, a teacher, was given three months’ notice by the IS cl vacation Board for having Written a loiter to the newspapers ; but on cacp’esjiDg his willingness to obey a certain rule laid down bv tho Board on such matters, he was reinstated—that is, he was allowed to eater tbs Bc-erd'i rorvice again, although not allowed to ivisv’. hie former position as teacher in tho xi jrmal school. Recently a Vacancy has occurred in that school in a fsition higher than that previously held by r Ramie, who applied for it, and to-day the Board by oix votes to three appelate 1 him to it. This baa caused Mr A. O. Begg to resign his seat on tihe Normal School committee of the Board. A lengthy discussion took place over the whole matter co-day. Mr Begg wished a ■iioond inquiry held into the working of the Normal School, a former one, he alleged, having bean unsatisfactory. Mr Fergus then suggested that on inquiry was desirable into the whole working of the Board’s office. Mr Fulton expressed a strong opinion that Mrs Beard hud made a mistake in the original notion about Faroie. Eventually the followjug notice of motion was given for next tweeting—‘‘That ts statements have been tnsdo oa t . versl oooa -ions by Messrs Green and Fergus, at meetings of the Board, reflectin'; on the conduct of certain of tho Board's officers, they bo requested to formulate these charges, so that they be investigated, and their truth or otherwise substantiated.” Mr G rroi said if this were carried ho would resign his seat. Such is the history at it* present stntre of tho second Forma disturbance *u the Education Board.
