The New Zealand Shipping Company’s ship City of Perth, at Port Chalmers, has had bee ««in and mixzen rigging set np, and it is expected that a month from date will find her WOM’inore ready to receive cargo. The steamship Stirling Castle, belonging to Messrs Thomas Skinner and Co., was docked at the Boyal Albert Docks, London, at 4 p.m. on 22nd June, having passed the lightship at the month of the Tangtse, 42 miles from Shanghai, at 3.45 a.m. on 23rd May, making the rnn, in Binding all detentions, in 29 days 22 hours 15 minutes, or steaming time, 27 days 23 honra 15 minutes, which beats the best passage on record by about ten days. The distance from Shanghai to London is about 12,000 miles.
