Consols remain at 10 Ij. The Bank rate remains at 5, and the market rate at per cent. The Bank reserve is £10,000,000, or £IOO,OOO less than last week. New Zealand securities—Five per Cent. 10-40, 1041 ex div.; Five per Cent. 1889, 107 ; Four-and-a-Half per Oont. 1879-1904, lOli. Colonial broadatuffs are firm at 47s for Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, and 42s to 44a 6d for New Zealand. Adelaide flour, ex store, 335. Australian tallow is firm at 44s 6d for best beef, and 47s for best mutton. Selected transparent kauri gum £ll 10s. Australian hides are in fair demand at full prices. October 13. Parliamentary blue books have been published relating to the Channel tunnel With the exception of Sir John Adye, the whole of the military critics have pronounced against the work being proceeded with.
