On the Court resuming to-day, SergeantMajor Thompson tendered for cross-examina-tion, but Mr O’Meagher declined to examine. All the forenoon the sitting was occupied. by the examination of John William*, but little freah evidence was elicited. Mr Henderson and wife are to be called thi* afternoon. Ihe Crown case is expected to finish to-morrow, but ac medical testimony and the evidence of the surveyor has yet to be taken, it i* improbable the case will be concluded to-morrow night. Mr Jame* Rutherford, member for Bruce, mot about 400 of hi* oon»tituent* at Milton last evening. The meeting, on the whole, was very favorably diapoaed towards their member, although a feeling appeared to exist thajt he had favored one portion of the district over others in regard to the construe, tion of roads, and that he should have voted for Mr Thomson’s appointment a* chairman of committees. He explained his action on these two points minutely, and in the course of his remarks spoke very favorably of the Government. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried by a large majority. A large number cf entries for the forthcoming rifie meeting are received daily, so much so that it i* feared the boarding accommodation will be limited.
