TO-DAY’S ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.
A very small number of fat sheep were penned this morning, and high prices were expected to rule. The supply, however, proving sufficient, no rise in values took place. Heavy crossbreds, 17s fid to 20a fid; medium, 15s to 16s 9d. Merinos were again in good numbers and demand, one very extra line fetching the high price of 18s fid, other lots 12a to 14a fid. We quote 2jd per lb as an average for mutton. Store sheep—But few on offer, and little business done. Fat lambs—A good supply, prices ranging from 6s to 9s fid. Pigs—Few on offer; prices unaltered. Fat cattle —A fair supply; demand dull. Beef may be quoted from 25s to 26s per 1001 b. Store cattle—A large lot of extra quality penned. Privately some are changing hands. The market, which promised to be dull, proceeding when our report was left.
