The cargo of frozen mutton, ex Mataura, has been found to be in good order and quite equal in condition to the Dunedin’s shipment. A number of carcases were sold to-day at from Sid to 6d per lb. Received September 29tb, 1 p.m. LONDON, September 28, 3.45 p.m. Sir Garnet Wolseley is expected to resume his home duties as Quarter-master-General on the Ist of November. The Corporation of the city of London has resolved to present its freedom to General Sir Garnet Welseley and Admiral Sir Beauchamp Seymour. The former will also receive a gold casket and the latter a sword. Lord Dufforin has, on behalf of England, replied to the Porte’s note, and has given such assurances as have entirely satisfied the Porte as to the intentions of England in Egypt.
