The Porte has addressed a note to Earl Dufferin, the British Ambassador, thanking England for having restored order in Egypt, and expressing the hope that the close friendship of England and Turkey will continue. ALEXANDRIA, Sept. 27. Sir Garnet Welseley will remain in Egypt for another fortnight, but at the expiration of that time will return to England. Lieutenant-General Sir Henry Wylie Norman, K.C.8..C.1E., Bengal, is likely to he left in command of tho forces at Alexandria. Received September 29,1 p.m. LONDON. Sept. 28, 3.45 p.m. Tantah has been garrisoned by two companies of English troops.
