September 27 The report of the proceeding* at two meeting* of the shareholder* in Guthrie and L»r□aoh’c Woodware Factories Company, at which resolution agreeing to liquidation w«* passed and then confirmed is being published m the local paper*. The proceeding* were of considerable interest, principally »* affecting the relation* of the Bank of New Zealand to the company. In the course of Mr Larnaoh’s (the chairman’*) speech, he »aid "I do not mean it offensively. I only wish to *ay this for the information of shareholder* that the company’* account has been one of some value to the Bank from ite commencement. is a statement of the interest, discount, and exchanges paid since the commencement of the company down to the end of la*t month. The intereit, discount, and exchange* paid to the Bank up to the *nd of December 31« t, 1881, wa* £79 279 19s. That is from the Ist of September, 1877, to the 31»t of December, 1881. Bronx the 31« tof December, 1880, to the 31st July, 1882, there bis been an additional amount of £37,990, so that during the company’s existence there has been something over £117,000 paid in diicount, interest, and exchanges. The amount pasied through the Bank’s book* by the company paid in the shape of bills and cash, amounts, from the Ist of September, 1877, to the 31*t December, 1880, to £1,841,688, out of which oyer £453,000 of cash has beau paid in. There has also been paid in by cash over £326.000, and additional sums in bills of over £650,000, so that the acoonnt has not been without profit to the Bank, bat ha* been one of considerable value.
