OHRIBTOHUEOH. Thuesdav. Sbetkmbeb 28. [Before J. Ollivier, Bsq., 8.M,") Dbunkenness.—For first offences, a man and a woman were each fined ss, or in default to be imprisoned for twenty-four hour*. Maintenance on Family.—Jas. Grimley was brought up on remand from September 23rd, charged with having deserted his wife Sarah and her four children. When brought up before he denied the charge, and he had been remanded to allow of an arrangement being come to. Mr March, of the Immigration Department, now informed the Bench that accused was ready to take charge of his family. He was accordingly ordered to pay £2 11s, expenses incurred by the department, and was then discharged. Civil Cases. —Starely v Hunt, claim £3 17a 9d, for work done in bricklaying. Judgment for plaintiff for £1 12» and costs. Bhaw v Jacobs, claim Ea, for [trespass of fowls. No date being named in the summons, judgment was given for defendant. Hardy v Hopper, claim £l2 9s 7id, for work done in grubbing and erection of a fence. Mr Spaokman for plaintiff, Mr Button for dafendent. Judgment for plaintiff for £6 10s 9d and costs. Judgments went by default for plaintiffs in—Kiddey v Wiggins, £2 ; Avon Hoad Board v Nioholls, £1 14i 6d ; same v Dumpby, 14s 4i; Coleman and 00. v Malone, £2 ; George’s Trustees v Buohanau, £4 5a ; same v Campbell, 3s 6d j Bountree v Hawkins, £3 6s 5d j Partridge v Thorpe, £5 13s 2i ; and Tindall T Fergnso £2 16s.
