Two transports have sailed from Portsmouth to bring home the first instalment of the troops from Egypt. The Australian cricketers commenced a match to-day at Harrogate, Yorkshire, against Eleven of England. The Homo team were all disposed of for 72. The Australians in their first innings scored 134. At to-day’s wool sale 10,000 bales were catalogued. The tone of the market remains quiet. Arrived—Duchess of Argyle, from Lyttelton (June 2nd); Firth of Forth, from Lyttelton (Juno 19th) ; Matanra, from Port Chalmers (June 12th). A detachment of Calcutta cavalry and artillery will be despatched to act as an escort to Cetewayo on Ms arrival at the Capo. Received Sept. 26, 1 a.m. September 25. Admiral Seymour and Sir Garnet Wolseley will, it is stated, shortly be raised to the Peerage. ST. PETERSBURG, Sept. 23. The Czar has returned to the capital from Moscow. Tho Porte has conceded all tho demands of the Hellenic Government in connection with the disputed boundary is Thessaly, and the conference which was proposed to be held to decide the question, has accordingly been abandoned. i VIENNA, September 23. A bridge over tho river Drave, a tributary of the Danube, on the Southern Hungarian railway line, collapsed to-day, and a passenger train conveying thirty soldiers was engulphed in the river.
