CANTERBURY COLLEGE.

A meeting of the Board of Governors of the College was held yesterday at 3 p.m. Present —Messrs W. Montgomery (chairman), W. J. W. Hamilton, H. P. Lance, F. de C. Mulct, H. B Webb, H. J, Tanored, T. W. Maude, J.Y. Oolborne Yeel, the Primate, Rsv. O. Fraser, Dr. Coward, Hon. B, O. J, Stevens. The Chairman said he desired to return his best thanks for the high honor they had done him by ro-sleoting him ss chairman of the Board. Perhaps the best proof be could give of the deep sense he entertained of the honor done him was to give his zealous attention to the work of the Board, and he trusted at the and' of the year the Board would be satisfied with his efforts as their chairman, [Hear, hear.] The report of the College committee was read as follows :—“ The committee reports the appointment of Mr W. H. Herbert as assistant-master at the Boys’ High School, at a salary of £250 per annum.” The report was adopted, The report of the estates committee was read and adopted. The Board went into committee to consider matters with reference to the appointments at the Girls’ High School. On the Board resuming, The Chairman reported what had been dona in committee, which was confirmed. The resignations of the Misses Edgor as teachers at the Girls’ High School were read and accepted.
