W. H. EYES, Deputy Begißtrar. John Joyce Solicitor for the Debtor. 3278 WOOLSTON TOWN DISTKICL The first meeting of the Commissioners of this newly constituted district was held this day, at noon. Present—Messrs J. H. Hopkins, T. York, B. S. McDiaruaid, Johs O'Neill, W. S. Attwood, G-. Tickaor, and J seph Coles. Mr McDiarmid wai temporarily voted to tho chair, and called upon the Commissioner!" to elect their chairman. Mr G. Ticknor proposed, and Mr J. O'Neill seconded, that Mr T. York be chairman. Mr Attwood proposed, and Mr J. Coles seconded, that Mr J. H. Hopkins be chairman. On being put to the vote Mr J. H, Hopkins was declared elected. The newly-elected chairm n then took his ■eat. It was determined that applications be invited from eligible Wools ton residents to aot as clerk to the Commission, and that notioes be posted to that effect in variolic parts of the district, and that a special meeting of the Commission be held on September 2Sth to answer applications, and that the first ordinary fortnightly meeting of the Commission be held on October sth. It was also agreed that the chairman sen#. circulars to the different Banks, staling the Board's probable income, and ask the terms upon which a Banking account would be opened. Messrs Hopkins, York, and O'Neill were chosen as a committee to wait on the Heath • oote Road Bosrd re the allocation to the new district, Several other matters, each ai rules for the transaction of business, election of a works committee, 3c i , were discussed and deferred till next meeting. The commission then rose, after sitting for upwards of two hours.
