1 By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. , [renter's telegrams ] i Received 9.40 a.m. ' LONDON, September 18, 6.48 p.m. The gunboats and troops have been ordered to Damietta, where the rebel troops under Abdullah, who refused to surrender, are posted. Seventeen thousand stand of arms have been captured at Kafradowar. Received September 19th, 3 p.m. ALEXANDRIA, September 18. Sir Evelyn Wood on his arrival at Kafradowar found that the rebel army which had been stationed there had dispersed, without waiting to surrender. The place is now occupied by a British force. Railway communication between Alexandria and Cairo has now been restored. In all twenty leaders of the National party have been arrested for complicity in the revolt. A decree has been issued by the Khedive, wholly disbanding the Egyptian army. The decree further sets forth that all officers of the army who showed sympathy with the Nationalist movement will be tried by court martial in Cairo. Tantah, one of the most important towns in the Delta, with a population of 30,000, was occupied to-day by the British troops. ["Abgus " Special, per United Press Association.] Received, 2.45 p.m., September 19. LONDON, Sept. 14, 6.10 a.m. Arabi now states that he was compelled to take up arms and fight against his will. The Khedive is about to proceed to Cairo and review the British troops. The Indian troops are to re-embark at Suez on the Ist October. An Indian loan of two and a half millions is required to meet the expenses of the contingent.
