P.] Drtjnkbnnbss.—Nine oases of this description were dealt with, as follows : —Mary Cunningham, fined 10* ; Joseph Carr, for being dunk at the railway station and for disorderly on the South Town Belt, was fined lOij Martin Wairen, as an habitual drunkard, wrs seDt tD gool for two months ; Ellen Thompson, fined £2 ; Thome? Ward, who is under the prohibition clause, was fined £1; Robert Tindell, fined £l. For first offences three men were fined 5j eaoh. A man was remanded three days for medioal treatment. Uniawfuily Wot/hdino. —Harry Leioh, a boy aged ten years, was charged with the above ofienoe. Bobert Leioh, aged nine, brother of the prisoner, stated that on Sunday last, after a few words, his brother stuck him in the thigh with a pocket knife. Prisoner had been whittling a stick with the knife, and had received no provocation. Sergeant Mason said that the prisoner was a very dangerous boy. He had nearly killed a little boy by persuading him to swallow some leed. M»s Leioh stated that the prisoner was nearly unmanageable. He would not attend sohool, and was a souroe of great anxiety to her. The boy's father, who also was in Court, said he was separated from his liife, and had no oontrol over the boy, who when in his oharge, was obedient enoaght to him. He would take the boy and put him to work, if allowed. Mr Olluler said it was too late for that. The boy was then committed to Burnham till he reaohed the age of fourteen years, the father to pay 6s per week for his maintenance. Leioh, senr., then put his hat on, and refviing to remove it, was ordered to be kept in custody till the rising of the Court.

Miscellaneous. — Robert Day, some time secretary of the Hthelbert Lodge, U.A.0.D., was fined £1 for neglecting to furnish the Registrar with returns of the receipts and expenditure of the above lodge, as required by the Ftiendly Societies Aot, 1877.—John Wakefield, for allowing a horse to wander, was fined ss.—On the application of the Returning Officer several names were struck off the South Christchuroh eleotoral roll.—A case against R. Bray, for allowing a bull to be at laTge, was dismissed. —Wm. Ataok and Rd. Stewart pleaded guilty to trespass in using as a thoroughfare the railway line between Addington and the eight mile peg. They were fined eaoh 10s.—W. Harding, for travelling on the railway without having paid the proper faro, was fined 10s and the fare, Is 8d. —John Hoberfield, for discharging a gun within the boundaries of Sydenham, was fined 10s. —James Scott was fined 10s for furious riding in Montreal street on September 4tb. —W. O'Connor, for Bllowing a horse to stand harnessed to a oart from 2 a.m. to 11 a.m. in a yard, during which time the animal got no food or water, was fined £2, and ordered to pay the expenses of two witnesses, 10s.—The same person was oharged with leaving his vehicle unattended, when the horse bolted and brought the vehicle into contact with a lamp post. He was ordered to pay the damage and expenses of one witness, sa. Several oases of default in payment of arrears for the maintenance of children at Burnham were adjourned for various terms.— Rdwin Hands wes ordered to pay 5a per week towerds the maintenance of his mother, Lucina Hands.
