THE ENEMY'S STRENGTH. LAKE MAREOTIS FLOODED. THE TURKISH TROOPS. [" ACE " SPECIAL.] LONDON, August 7, 7 a.m. The enemy's regular infantry number 44,000, the cavalry 1800, and the guns 150. In addition there ia a force ef Bedouins numbering 30,000 men. The Mareotis Lake is flooding owing to the canal cut by the British forces. The Naval Brigade have joined Sir Garnet Wolseley. Dervish Pasha and Baker Pasha have gone from Creto. The first detachment of Turkish troops consists of 3000 men.
