Elizabeth Thomas, his wife, stated that he had left her and her three children four weeks ago with only 10s in the house, and he had not given her any money since. The prisoner said he had gone to Wellington on a sure prospect of obtaining work. He had been dragged away on the warrant, and had consequently lost money partly earned. If released, he would pay a stated sum weekly to hia wife, if he had to borrow it from his relations. Mrs Thomas agreeing, he was ordered to pay his wife £1 per week, and was discharged. [Before O. Whitetoord, Esq., B.M.] Civil Oabeb.—ln Matson and 00. v Josling, claim £23 18s, defendant admitted the debt, and was ordered to pay £l2 in one month, and the balance at the end of two months. In Taylor v Harding, £1 2s 6d, judgment was fir plaintiff without dispute.
