THE WAR IN EGYPT.
[BY CABLE.] [belter's TELEGRAMS. I ALEXANDRIA, September 4. H.M.S. Minotaur, flagship of the Channel Squadron, is now daily engaged in shelling the enemy’s lines at Aboukir. [“ AGE ” SPECIAL ] LONDON, September 4, 9.10 a.m. An armed force of 30,000 Tripolians is stated to have left on the way to Egypt to reinforce Arahi. The Turkish forces will endeavour to intercept their advance. The commanders of Arabi’s force at Talekebir are meditating desertion. Sir Garnet Wolseley is taking every precaution to guard against the effects of sunstroke, which have heretofore seriously interfered with the efficiency of tho transport service. 4.5 p.m. A force of the enemy is advancing on Mendesin. H.M S. Minotaur is engaged in shelling the position. The health of tho troops at Kassassin is improved.
