DUNEDIN, August 31.
The result of the “ fisticuffs” case yesterday has ended in Mr Eitohett being fined 50a and costa. The Police Court was crowded. James Whitelaw, auctioneer, died this morning. An authoritative contradiction is given to the reported change to be made in the management of the Bank of New Zealand at Dunedin.
INVERCARGILL, August 31. The vital statistics for August were : Births, 58 ; marriages, 12 ; deaths, 20.
