MELBOURNE, August 30,

As the steamship Manaponri was turning in the basin at the Falls Bridge she collided with the Sophia. The latter was considerably damaged, and has to be docked. The Manaponri was uninjured, and proceeded on her voyage, leaving last evening for the Bluff. In the Legislative Assembly last night the discussion on the Licensee Qualification Bill was resumed. Sir Bryan O’Loghlen moved that the amendments of the Legislative Council, with minor alterations, he agreed to. After debate the motion was agreed to on a division ty 39 to 22, The Orient steamers have resumed the route through the Suez Canal for homeward voyages.
