Intelligence is to hand from the Phillipine Islands that a terrible outbreak of cholera is raging there. Four thousand deaths are already reported from the epidemic.
There are no changes to report in the money or produce markets; 10,000 bales -were offered at to-day’s wool sale, and there was a firm and active demand. The return match at Clifton between the Australians and Gloucester was resumed to-day. The Australians in their first innings scored 190. Horan b 41, Jones b 33. The borne team in their first innings pnt together 131. F. Townsend was the highest scorer with 27. Spofforth bowled splendidly, taking five wickets for 30 runs. The Australians then went in for their second innings, and had scored 98 with six wickets down when time was called, and the match ended in a draw. Massie was mot out with 55; Bannerman, not oat, 21. There was a large attendance, and the weather was fine, but the wicket was not in good order.
