[eEUTEE’S TEIiEGEAMS. ] MELBOURNE, August 25. A proposal is afoot to hold an Intercolonial Exhibition in 1884, to celebrate the jubilee of Tictoria. The Joint Stock Bank and City of Melbourne Bank have amalgamated their business. A warrant has now been signed for the extradition of Robert Wame, charged as an absconding bankrupt from Oamarn. SYDNEY, August 25. Arrived, yesterday morning—Wakatipu, from Wellington; last evening, Zealandia, from Auckland. The debate on Mr Stuart’s amendment to the address in reply is still proceeding in the Assembly. The race for the Hawkesbury Guineas resulted as follows:—Hecla, 1; Jessie,
2; Yancluse, 3. Hecla won easily.
