{EEUTEE’S TELEGEAMB.I SYDNEY, August 19,

A man named Burns, who was yesterday acquitted on the charge of murdering another named Forbes, whose headless body was found at Deep Lead, was immediately afterwards re-arrested for the murder of Michael Quinlivan in 1880. A further warrant is out for Burns for a murder in South Australia.

Mr S. D. Brown has resigned his position as Postmaster-General in the New South Wales Ministry. Tho Government intend to make a large redaction in railway rates from Ist September next.
