Consols have recovered the fall of ■£, which took place yesterday, and are today again at par.

Colonial breadstnffs have suffered a decline of one shilling in wheat and sixpence in dear. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, is quoted at 50s, and New Zealand at 49a. Adelaide floor, ex warehouse, is selling at 365, Australian tallow continues quiet at 44s for best beef, and 45s 6d for best mutton. The market rate of disconnt has been raised by -J- to 2f, and is now -J- below the bank rate. New Zealand securities are without change in price.

In the House of Lords to-day, the Arrears of Rent in Ireland Bill, as re-amended in the House of Commons, came np for re-consideration. After some discussion, the Peers accepted the amendments which were made to various clanses, and the Bill was read a third time and passed.

The Australian #ricketers commenced the match to-day against an eleven of the Players of England at Kennington Oval. The following are the names of the Players : Barnes, Bates, Emmett, Blowers, Lockwood, Morley, Peate, Shrewsbury, Ulyett, Read and Sherwin. The weather was very fine, and the homo team went first to the wickets, and remained in all day, the scoring at the close standing at 310, with nins wickets down. The principal scores were— Bead 130, and Barnes 87. The fielding of tho Australians was very weak.
