COURSING.
CANTERBURY COURSING CLUB. Second Day.
This meeting was continued yesterday, and, to the surprise of most coursing men, the favorites were out of it. The dogs left in the various stakes for to-day are as follows :
CANTERBURY CUP. Final. Bridegroom meets Beatrice. CANTERBURY PURSE. Bessie Bell meets Wheel of Fortune. Parmesan runs a bye. ST. LEGES. Flora Molvor meets Sir George. NORTH CANTERBURY COURSING CLUB. The final mooting of the season connected -with this club, for all aged dogs, was begun on Thursday morning on Mr Chapman’s run, near Fernside. The weather was favorable, and there was a good attendance, inclusive of a number of ladies. Mr J. Hossack again acted as judge, Mr Cone as slipper. In all seventeen courses were got off during the day, and the olub meet at 9.30 to-day to finish the sport. The following is a list of the courses as decided:
Mr H. Archer’s Tibby Fuller beat Mr Q. Plaskett’s Skipper Mr J. Pearson’s Bpio beat Mr J. Parrel's Lough Mr J. Pearson’s Barbello beat Mr W. J. Dailey’s Fly Mr J. Roberts’ Nelly ran a bye Mr W. J. Dailey’s Magpie boat Mr R. J. Parson’s Duchess
Mr G. D. Greenwood’s Tip boat Mr W. J. Dailey’s Trot Mr H. Archer’s Ply beat Mr J. Parrel’s Charlie Hr v. Hopkins’ Erin beat Mr M. 0. Moran’s Sam
Mr E. J. Parson’s Supplejack beat Mr M. C. Moran’s Zulu
Mr J. Farrel’a Spring beat Mr G. Bailey’s King Tom Mr M. C. Moran’s Lulu beat Mr S. Hossack’s Leo
Mr J. Farrel’a Nellie boat Mr T. Croft’s Brian Born
Mr W. J. Dailey’s Lucy and Mr G. Cone’s Oakley each ran a bye. There were a number of capital courses in the foregoing, and hares were fairly plentiful.
