[VEOM THE “ PBEB3."] WELLINGTON, August 8. The petitions committee report on the petition of Juo. Hoskins, surveyor, that he woe not unfairly treated by the Canterbury chief surveyor, but recommend that he be given a trial in Wellington. The waste lands committee recommend that the Government give effect to the judgment of the Supreme (Dour; -in favor of Mr J. O. Wason’a claim under the Tree Planting Act, and refer to the Government the petition of South Bakaia settlers for CO acres of commonage.
