BNGKLISff TOBJEIGrN. [RKXJTEB'a TEIBGBAMB.] LONDON, July 24. The Australian cricketers commenced their match against eleven of Northumberland at Newcastle to-day. Not much interest was taken in the match, and there was not a large attendance of spectators during the day. The Australians went first to the wickets, and put together 193 runs before they were dieposed of. The principal scorers were Horan and Garrett, tho former being not out for 76 and the .latter caught for 59. The wicket was not in good order. The Home team then commenced their first innings, and at the close of the day's play had scored 5 for the loss of one wicket.
Consols are unchanged at 99£. New Zealand securities remain at the following quotations:—Five per Cent. 10-40 Loan, 107; Five per Cent. 1889 Loan, 105 J; Four-and-a-Half per Cent. 18791904 Loan, 103. Adelaide wheat is dull at 6s ex store, and New Zealand ditto at 50s. Off the coast cargoes of Adelaide wheat are now worth 50s. Adelaide flour, ex store, 37a 6d, Australian tallow is firm at 44s 6d for the best beef, and 43s 6d for the best mutton.
The English, Scottish and Australian Chartered Bank has declared a dividend of 4 per cent, for the past half-year, and carried forward £IO,OOO to the reserve fuad.
