WAIMAKARIRI HARBOR BOARD.

The monthly meeting of this Board was lield in the Ksiapoi Municipal Chamber on Monday evening. Present —Messrs Parnhatn (chairman, pro ten .), Wearing, Smith, Moore and Mathews. Leave of absence was granted to Mr Hurae for two months, and to Mr Threlkeld. Letters were read—From Mr Wm. Eokersley, resigning his petition as a member of the Board in consequence of having become a lessee of part c£ its property. From the Colonial General Post Office, stating that reports of the weather from places to which vessels wefe destined to sail from Kaiapoi would be furnished free. From Mr Isaac Wilson, M.H.E., advising that the weather report should be furnished from Christchurch office by the midday train. It was resolved to accept this. Mr Eokersley’s resignation was accepted, with an expression of regret on the part of the members. On tho motion of Mr Moore, seconded by Mr Mathews, it vras decided that Mr B. Parnham bo elected chairman of tho Board to the end of the current year. Accounts, £l3 la 2d, were passed for payment. It was decided that the seel of the Board be attached to lease with Messrs Eokersley and Macfaidane in proao-ioe of the chairman and Mr Mathews. Mr Smith, reminded the Board that if the engine was to he returned from the dredge it ought to go noon, otherwise there was an agreement that if tho Board kept it a certain lime they agreed to purchase it. la tho condition in which the engine was in he objected to its being bought. Tho chairman was elected a member of the dredge committee, and it was resolved that the committee report upon tho engine. Mr Mathews suggested that, if possible, the willows near Mr Holland’s he cut. It was resolved to insure one of tho buildings on the Board’s reserves with the South British Company. After passing some routine business, the Board adjourned.
