Tbe Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Friday, Jane 30th, were as follows s Spirits, J 314 14s sd; beer, .£l4 8a 9d ; sugar, .£ .15 15s 9d; goods by weight, ,£63 4a 9d ; ad valorem. J 8135 10a ; other duties, ,£52 6b Bd. Total, -£395 Os 4d. GRAIN AND PRODUCE. During the past week nothing of moment has transpired in the grain market. The demand for wheat is moderate, and absorbs the offerings, which are not by any means excessive. Good samples command up to ss, and medium lota somewhat lower rates. A fair second hand business is said to have been carried through, but rates have not bsen allowed to transpire. Flour ia not in so good request as it was, and sales are more difficult to fffect, first brands are however still quoted at ,£ll 10s, f.0.b., in 2001 b sacks. Southern millers appear to be finding an* outlet in. Sydney, the Wakatipu last week taking no less than 6105 sacks from Dunedin for that market. Oats nominally unchanged, but there is so little actual business doing that it i* difficult to give reliable quotations; last week's rates— 33 to 3s 2d—may, however, bo repeated. Malting barley of good quality finds ready buyers at up to 4s 6d, but for ordinary parcels there is very little enquiry. Several parcels of beans have changed hands at 4s 3d to 4a 4£i. Very few potatoes have been offered during the week, but as farmers generally seek from 35a to 40a at country stations, no business of consequence has been carried through. An excellent demand exists for good butter at la Id, and for cheese at 7d. Hams and bacon move off in trade parcels at 7id.
