POLITICAL INTELLIGENCE.
FBt Tklegbaph.l fFBOM THE “ PRESS-”] WELLINGTON, Juno 29. A return was presented to Parliament tonight, showing the number qf infected sheep in each district of the colony. Tho respective numbers are as follows :—Auckland counties, 3=84; Napier and New Plymouth counties, nil; Wellington counties, 53,164; Nelson counties, 18,501; Marlborough counties, 355,269; Amuri county, 123,138 ; Canterbury, Westland, and Otago counties, nil; total, 535,305. It has been decided not to attempt any morning sitting of the House to-morrow. Members will probably embark on thoir voyage for Lyttelton to-morrow to attend tho Exhibition at _ Christchurch. Therefore, there would be so little time available that it is not thought worth while to meet at all to-murrow. To-day the House has been in a state of languid disorganisation, and neither news nor gosriphas been stirring. Everybody seems to have agreed to lot everything “ slide ” until after the Southern excursion, when bon. members purpose to be themselves, and to return to their work with redoubled vigor, “ like giants refreshed with new wine.”
