Two defaulting jurors were fined 40a ttach. A slight shock of earthquake was felt here at half-past eleven on Saturday night. The direction was north to south. At the Resident Magistrate’s Court this morning, eleven boys were brought up in a hatch charged with larceny of a sheet of copper, metal tape, and other articles. Two Chinaman, named Jim Luok and Ah Ling, were charged with receiving the stolen property from the boys. Accused were remanded till to-morrow.

A movement is on foot hero to establish a company for the purchase of a steamer for tho coastal trade.
