The Marine Board inquiry into the collision betweon the Arawata and the Sea Nymph on the Bth instant has closed. The Board has found that the captain of the Arawata was to blame for navigating tho harbor during the severe weather of the night of tho collision ; hat, in consequence of extenuating circumstances, he is only reprimanded and admonished.

MELBOURNE, June 22

In the Legislative Assembly last night, Sir Bryan O'Loghlen, with the consent of Mr Francis, announced that the Government had decided to abandon the proposed remission of the duty on tea and tobacco, and that the question of reducing the inland postage rate would be postponed for a year, and that the proposal to reduce the excise on beer would be allowed to lapse.
